Paul Philip Wimbleton (born 13 November, 1964 in Havant) is a former English professional footballer.

An England schoolboy international, 10 apps and scoring 5 goals, Wimbleton began his career at Portsmouth making his debut during the 1981-82 season. At the start of the following season he sustained a serious knee injury. Later in the season attempted to return to action for the club but his injury had not fully healed and he was forced to undergo surgery as well as a long recuperation period in order to overcome the injury and was released by the club in 1984.

He was signed by Cardiff City manager Frank Burrows, who had been Portsmouth manager for a short time when Wimbleton began to break into the first team, in July 1986. He was ever-present in his first year at the club, making 46 league appearances and playing a total of 59 competive games. He finished as top scorer with eleven goals in all competitions before helping the side gain promotion, also winning the Welsh Cup. Paul was voted P.F.A.team player of the year and Cardiff Player of the Year. He spent one more year at Cardiff before moving to Bristol City in 1989 gaining promotion. He spent one year at Bristol and went on to have similar one year spells at Shrewsbury Town [ [http://www.shrewsburytown.dk/content/shrewsbury.htm "Former players"] Shrewsbury Town player database Retrieved on 21 April, 2008] , which included a short loan spell at Maidstone United, Exeter City in 1991 and Swansea City in 1992 before moving to Barry Town.

As a Barry Town player he won the Welsh Cup for 2nd time before traveling to South Africa to play for Cape Town Spurs in the South African 1st Division. The following season 1996-1996 he went to play in the Hong Kong 1st Division for Sing Tao helping them to win the Viceroy Cup. He was transfered to Kui Tan at the end of the 1995-1996 season. In 1996-1997 Paul played in Eire 1st Division for Cork City. In the summer of 1997-1998 season Paul played for Foshan in the Chinese 1st Division.At the end of the 1997-1998 season Paul played for Merthyr Tydfil.The following season he played for the Delaware Wizards and Hampton Roads Mariners in the 'A' League in the U.S.A.(19 apps)

In 1998 Paul started his own soccer coaching business in New Jersey, U.S.A.
