Biography
Bates was born in
Danville, Illinois on January 11, 1956. She attended theUniversity of Illinois and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism.From 1987 – 2000 Bates worked as a television reporter and anchor with stations around the country including in Philadelphia and Tampa. From 1987 – 2000 she was a television anchor for
WBZ-TV in Boston.In 2000, Bates started her firm, Bates Communications, Inc., and coaches executives in speaking, presenting, and communication strategy. The firm works with companies such as
Fidelity Investments ,Raytheon ,Dow Chemical , andBlue Cross Blue Shield .Published works
