- Robert Shumake
Dr. Robert Shumake is founder of the real estate and investment firm: Inheritance Investment Group, located in Michigan. He is also the founder of The Robert S. Shumake Relays, a foundation that gives out scholarships based both on academic merit and athletic skill.
Shumake founded First Equity Holdings in 1996. Since then, they managed and sold 85% of the Department of Housing and Urban Development inventory in the state of Michigan with sales reach approximately 80 million dollars. As a director, Dr. Shumake presided over the Affordable Housing Committees in Michigan and Indiana. Charity work
Dr. Shumake attended Detroit’s Edwin Denby where he was a member of the track team. He founded the Shumake Relays as “an opportunity for him to help young people realize their goals by spotlighting student athletes”. Also funding Shumake’s charity is an album he produced in early 2006. Dr. Shumake created a rap album featuring Umar Bin Hassan of
The Last Poets , Big Proof ofD12 and M-1 ofDead Prez . The album titled "Take The Land: Elements of Real Estate", consists of 13 tracks all about home ownership and real estate. All profits from this album went directly to Shumake Relays.Community service
Dr. Shumake is a member of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, which is located in Detroit, Michigan.
