Basketball ID at the
2000 Summer Paralympics consisted of a men's event with eight teams competing. The sport was a form ofbasketball adapted for players withintellectual disabilities (ID). Spain won the competition, but it was later discovered that ten of the team's twelve players were not disabled. Spain was stripped of the award and the players were ordered to return their gold medals.
