Krystyna Kurczab-Redlich

Krystyna Kurczab-Redlich – a Polish journalist, reporter and lawyer.

As a correspondent in Russia for the Polish media, she’s the authour of documentalistic films on Chechnya, in which she presented stunning cases of disrespect of human rights by the Russian Army. In 2000, she published a book called "Pandrioszka", a very colourful book in which she wrote about the everyday life in modern Russia.

Later on, in 2007, she published the book "Głową o mur Kremla" (transl. “Hitting the head on the wall of the Kremlin”), in which she described with details the events in Russia from the late 80s to nowadays; and after which she was often called "the Polish Politkovskaya" ("Polska Politkowska").

Honoured with one of the most important journalist prizes for foreign correspondents: with the "Karol Dziewanowski Award". She was also prized by Amnesty International and with the "Melchior Wańkowicz Award" for publications and reports from Chechnya.In 2005, the Chechen organization Echo of War along with Amnesty International and the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights nominated her for the Peace Noble Award !
