Shoreline Trail

Shoreline Trail is a route along Lake Michigan in Muskegon County, Michigan.

The sign (located near the bottom of this page: http://www.michiganhighways.org/route_markers.html) is in the shape of a triangle with two sails, a wave, and the name "Shoreline Trail" with a red underline.

Here is the route from south to north.

Norton Shores, Michigan

*Start at the border with Ottawa County on Black Lake Rd.
*Follow Black Lake Rd. to Pontaluna Rd.
*Pontaluna Rd. west to Lake Harbor Rd., where Hoffmaster State Park is located.
*Lake Harbor Rd. to W. Norton Ave.
*W. Norton Ave. to Lincoln St.
*Lincoln St. to W. Sherman Blvd.

Muskegon, Michigan

*W. Sherman Blvd. to Dune St.
*Dune St. to Beach St.
*Beach St. to Lakeshore Dr.
*Lakeshore Dr. to Michigan Ave.
*Michigan Ave., around the Cole's garlic bread factory, to stop sign.
*At stop sign, turn left.
*At the next road, turn right to W. Western Ave.
*W. Western Ave. to Shoreline Dr.
*Shoreline Dr. to Business U.S. 31.
*Business U.S. 31 to Muskegon Causeway.

North Muskegon, Michigan

*Muskegon Causeway to Lake Rd.
*Lake Rd. to Center St.
*Center St. to Ruddiman Ave.
*Ruddiman Ave. to Memorial Dr. in Muskegon State Park.
*Memorial Dr. to N. Scenic Dr.
*Through Duck Lake State Park.
*N. Scenic Dr. to S. Shore Dr.

Whitehall, Michigan

*S. Shore Dr. to Main St.
*Main St. to Mears St.
*Mears St. to Colby.
* Colby to Thompson, concurrent with Business 31.

Montague, Michigan

*Thompson St. to Dowling St. over causeway, concurrent with Business 31 to Water St.
*Dowling St. to Old Channel Trail.
*Old Channel Trail to Lamos Rd. (southbound).
*Lamos Rd. to W. Old Channel Trail.
*W. Old Channel Trail to N. Old Channel Trail.
*N. Old Channel Trail to Hancock Rd.
*Hancock Rd. to Lehman Rd.
*Lehman Rd. to Fruitvale Rd.
*Follow County Road B15 signs to Skeels, at the Oceana County border.

Notes

*The Old Channel Trail along White Lake and channel in Montague, Michigan was originally an Indian trail.
*The Consumers Energy B.C. Cobb plant is located on the Muskegon Causeway, where Muskegon Lake and the Muskegon River meet. It is located on property by the lake.
*There are three state parks along route: Hoffmaster State Park, Muskegon State Park, Duck Lake State Park. They are the only state parks in Muskegon County, all along Lake Michigan.
*This route crosses the channels between Lake Michigan and Mona Lake and Duck Lake.
