Kaspiane

Kaspiane

Kaspiane, or Caspiane, was the land populated by the tribe of Caspians, after whom it received its name. Originally a province of Medes in the third-second centuries B.C., the land of the Caspians was conquered by Armenians in the 2nd century B.C., then passed to Caucasian Albania, and later became an independent state. In the second century A.D. it became known as Paytakaran, and after 387 A.D. became a part of the larger region of Balasakan. [Robert H.
