Telelogic Synergy is a software tool that provides software configuration management (SCM) capabilities for all artifacts related to software development including source code, documents and images as well as the final built software executables and libraries. The task is used to both describe the change and to promote/demote the change to builds and final releases. Synergy began life as a research project for
Computers West of Irvine California. By 1988 the other divisions ofComputers West were sold off and the reorganized company was focused on developing and selling the now productizedAmplify Control configuration management tool. In 1988 the company was renamed CaseWare. They experienced some financial troubles but relaunched in 1991. Both the company and the product were renamed from CaseWare to Continuus Software in 1993.
