Cyclic neutropenia Classification and external resources ICD-9 288.02 OMIM 162800 DiseasesDB 30103 Cyclic neutropenia (or cyclical neutropenia) is a form of neutropenia that tends to occur every three weeks and lasting three to six days at a time due to changing rates of cell production by the bone marrow.[1]:811
It is often present among several members of the same family. Treatment includes G-CSF and usually improves after puberty.
Cyclic neutropenia is the result of autosomal dominantly inherited mutations in ELA2, the gene encoding neutrophil elastase.[2]
