Petion Savain

Petion Savain (February 15, 1906 in Port-au-Prince - 1975?) was a Haïtian artist and writer.

Savain studied at the Haïtian School of Agronomy from which received a degree in law. He began painting in his early years and by his early 30s he was the author of at least two books, "La Case de Damballah" and "Les Oeuvres Nouvelles". Savain eventually became a newspaper columnist, as well as lawyer, teacher, and author. His works, known for their bright colors, have been displayed in numerous art galleries, such as the Corcoran Gallery and the Riverside Museum.
