- Kaddour El Alamy
Sidi Kaddour El Alami (born 1742 in
Meknes , died 1850) is one of Morocco's best known poets. He was a songwriter in the genre of themalhun and founded thesufi zawiyya Alamin in Meknes. ["Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics", Part 20, p.722 ] This zawiyya became one of the centres from which themalhun would spread. Some of El Alami's best known songs are "El Farradjia" (also known as "Ya Krim") and "El meknassia".References
