Yvette Biro

Essayist, screenwriter, and professor emerita in New York University Graduate Film School, Yvette Biro worked on a dozen prizewinning films with noted directors Miklós Jancsó, Zoltán Fábri, Károly Makk) in her native Hungary.

She recently wrote scripts, one based on Nobel Laureate Jose Saramago’s "The Stone Raft" (2003-4) and for acclaimed European co-productions: "Johanna" (2005, "Un Certain Regard") and "Delta",(2008) director: Kornel Mundruczo; she also co-wrote with him a play for the stage, "Frankenstein".

Yvette published numerous essays and ten books on film, translated into seven languages. Her last book came out recently both in French (2007) and English, "Turbulence and Flow in Film", by Indiana University Press. (2008)
