Terence Yung

Terence Yung (b. Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong-American classical pianist.

Education

At fourteen, he entered the Juilliard School where he studied with Frank Lévy. He is currently a student of the legendary American pianist Abbey Simon — who himself is a protegé of Józef Hofmann — at the Moores School of Music in Texas. Terence's musical development has been influenced in completely different ways by a succession of distinguished musicians, most notably, Lang Lang, Garrick Ohlsson, Horacio Gutiérrez, Oxana Yablonskaya, Eleanor Sokoloff, Kenneth Boulton, Michel Béroff, and Philippe Entremont.

Professional Career

At thirteen, Terence made his professional début with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra at the Grand Opera House (Wilmington, Delaware). A frequent recitalist and soloist with orchestras throughout the United States and abroad, Terence's career includes such venues as the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Grand Opera House (Wilmington, Delaware), Benaroya Hall, The Kosciusko Foundation, Yamaha Salon, and Steinway Hall in New York. He has appeared under conductors David Amado, Richard Vanstone, and Jack Moore.
