One of the most popular landmarks in Huish Episcopi is the Rose and Crown pub, known to its patrons as "Eli's." A nitty-gritty, homely, family-run Somerset pub, Eli's serves its customers from a flagstone-floored cellar with no bar. Until 2007 the pub had a simple cash box instead of a till. The pub is described at length in "The Longest Crawl" by Ian Marchant.
