Robert "Bob" Charles is a fictional character on the Irish soap opera Fair City.
Bob came into Carrigstown in 2006 with his wife Emer to try and sell property in Bulgaria. He became friends with the Phelan family and soon started an illicit affair with Renee Phelan. While their affair was going on, Bob's wife was sectioned into a mental home.
Bob and Renee's affair went on for many months. All hell broke loose when her husband, Christy found out. Renee packed her bags and went to live with Bob. Bob leased McCoys pub from Kay McCoy.
In 2008, Bob bought the pub from Kay. He also made enemies with Mike Gleeson after he took Cleo Cullen to work in his pub. Bob was unhappy when Renee's son, Floyd arrived home. He tried bribing him with money to get him to go. When Floyd revealed he was dying and Renee went to move in with him to look after him, he bacame jealous as she would be spending time with Christy. Bob was disgusted to learn that Floyd was having an incestous relationship with Heather Daly.
After Floyd's death, Barry O'Hanlon started poking around asking questions. This upset Renee so he decided to go on a long holiday with her. Before they left, he hired Tracy Kavanagh as acting manager of McCoys.
