Portugal will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia. So far, Ana Malhoa has stated that she would like to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest, but no official word on participants has been made. But other choise can be Ana Free.

Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP) have yet to make an annoucement as to when the Festival da Canção 2009 will be held, or where. It has been rumoured that changes may occur to the format of the contest.

At Eurovision

Despite qualifying from the semi-finals for the first time in the 2008 contest, Portugal will have to qualify from the semi-finals again in 2009 as is not one of the "Big Four" or the host of the 2009 contest.
