Marorka is a company based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It operates wholly owned subsidiaries in Denmark and Norway. Marorka specializes in marine energy management. Marorka's mission is to deliver products and services to vessel owners and operators to save fuel, increase profitability and reduce harmful emissions.[1] The company was founded in June 2002 and resulted from the PhD. thesis of Dr. Jón Ágúst Thorsteinsson, founder and CEO.

Marorka’s systems have been installed on board vessels of various types and sizes; Fishing vessels, Cargo vessels, Cruise ships and Research vessels.

In 2008 Marorka received the Nordic Council’s Nature and Environment Prize. 37 companies were nominated for the award.[1]

Marorka has implemented a quality management system built on the ISO 9001:2000 standard, certified by Det Norske Veritas.
