Twelve ships of the French Navy have borne the name "Foudre" ("lightening"). Among them:
* A gunboat (1760-1768)
* A gunboat (1795-1795)
* A 6-gun gunboat (1798-1799)
* A gunboat (1804)
* A steam and sail frigate (1856-1872)
* The first-class cruiser "Foudre" (1895- 1921)
* A Landing Ship Dock (1953-1969)
* The TCD "Foudre", presently in active service.
