Buskerud ,Norway . The river runs through the municipality ofSigdal , flowing in a south-easterly course until it flows intoDrammenselva at Åmot inModum . Thewatershed of the Simoa covers 889 km2. TheSoneren lake on the river lies at a height of 103 m.The Haugfoss waterfall at
Blaafarveværket in Modum, near the end of the rivers course, was developed withhydroelectric power in 1937, it has a capacity of 3.6 MW. The tributary riverHorga which runs into Soneren has a second power station (Horga kraftverk) which was built 1988-1990 and has a capacity of 7.2 MW.
