Baghlah

A baghlah is a bigger version of a dhow.

History

Baghlahs were used as merchant ships in the Arabic oceans, and later in East Africa. The Baghlah also uses two lateen sails it is sailed by a crew of 18-25 sailors. It is reported that it can sail 9 knots per hour.
