- Greenwich Printmakers
The Greenwich Printmakers Association, based in
Greenwich ,London ,England , was founded in 1979. It is the oldest contemporary independent artist/printmakers group in the UK with the primary aim of providing a permanent display of members' work in their own gallery. It is run as aco-operative , staffed and administered by the artists themselves.Exhibitions
There are five exhibitions of new work each year, in addition to several other locations which have been as far afield as
Canada ,Germany and theUSA . Many of the artists participate in the annualRoyal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the National Printmaking Shows ("Originals" at the Malls Galleries, London) as well as national and international competitions and events.Members
Many prominent British Printmakers were members of the Association over the years including Anita Klein (past president of the
Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers ), Brenda Hartill RE, Nana Shiomi ARE, Trevor Price RE, Mychael Barratt ARE, Gail Brodholt ARE, Emiko Aida ARE, Mary Cossey, Veta Gorner, Susie Perring, Sonia Rollo, Martin Ridgwell ARE, Chris Salmon.
