British Music Experience

British Music Experience

The British Music Experience (or simply BME) will be a permanent exhibition installed into The O2 Bubble, part of The O2 in Greenwich, London. Due to open in Spring 2009, it will feature a retrospective look at the British music industry since 1944, and feature a wide selection of content and experiences which will be presented using a range of interactive media [ [http://www.britishmusicexperience.com/ BME Website] ] .

Spearheaded by music mogul Harvey Goldsmith, and developed by The O2 owners AEG, BME was created to fill a gap in the UK Heritage sector for Rock and Pop Music [ [http://www.harveygoldsmith.com/history2.php Harvey Goldsmith] ] . Previously, the National Centre for Popular Music in Sheffield had attempted to achieve this but failed to attract visitors and was eventually closed.
