Avramiou is a village in Messinia, Greece. It was built in about 1816. In 1816 it had 32 families, and during the turkishoccupation was a village of Koroni province. In 1835 Avramiou became a village of Messini province and capital of Leukothea Municipality (defunct). In August 1840, Avramiou became a village of Aristomenis Municipality. In 1846 avramiou almost destroyed by the earthquakes.The primary school of Avramiou founded in 1860. Ten years after avramiou became the capital of Aristomeni Municipality. Today is a village of Messini Municipality. The municipal department of Avramiou also contains Drakoneri, Ag. Augoustino and Avramiou. Note that the population is only for the Avramiou village. The total population is 591 people
