Litcast

A litcast is a digital audiobook format intended for downloading of prerecorded audiobooks to a mobile device. The concept was launched in 2008 by the Norwegian publisher Grieg Lyd, in collaboration with the telecommunications company Telenor.

"Litcast" is a portmanteau of "literature" and "broadcast", on the model of podcast.
