Thomas Robinson (Stretford politician)

Sir Thomas Robinson OBE (1863–30 December 1953) was an English politician.

Robinson was born in Stretford, Lancashire and worked for the Bradford Dyers' Association. He was elected to Stretford Urban District Council in 1894, serving on it until his death, and when the town was incorporated as a municipal borough in 1933 he was elected its first mayor. He was elected again in 1944. He was Member of Parliament for Stretford from 1918 to 1931. Originally a National Liberal, he stood as a Constitutionalist in 1924 and an Independent in 1929.
