Sawani Shende-Sathaye

Sawani Shende-Sathaye is a young and dynamic Indian classical and semi-classical Vocalist from the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India. She is a disciple of Smt. Veena Sahasrabuddhe who is famous for her Indian classical vocal in Gwalior gharana tradition from Jaipur and Kirana gharanas.

Sawani is famous for her new and fresh approach towards presenting the traditional Indian vocal, her specialization is in performing khyals. She has managed to attract the people from the new generation towards pure Indian classical music with her unique style of singing in the era of Rock, Pop and Jazz etc.

At the age of 12, She got the opportunity to perform at the 'Rashtrapati Bhavan' in front of the then President of India Hon. R. Venkatraman.

She has bagged many awards, to name a few:
* Pt. Jasraj Puraskar
* Manik Varma Award
* Rasikagrani Pt. Dattopant Deshpande Memorial Award
* Pt. Ramakrishnoba Vaze Award

Many music album releases to her name such as:
