Yugoslavia participated for the last time in the Eurovision Song Contest 1992. Yugoslavia decided their entrant for the contest through a national final, where it was decided that Extra Nena, with the song "Ljubim te pesmama", would sing for Yugoslavia at Eurovision 1992.
After the contest, the United Nations placed sanctions on FR Yugoslavia, prohibiting them, along with other things, from competing in Eurovision. Former Yugoslav republics then appeared independently beginning with the 1993 contest.
National final
The national final was held on 28 March 1992 in the TV Centar in Belgrade. Artists from Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina competed. There were twenty songs competing in the national final. At Eurovision
Extra Nena performed 20th on the night of the contest, following Italy and preceing Denmark. The song received 44 points at the close of the voting, placing 13th in a field of 23.
