Experimental guitar pick ups
- Experimental guitar pick ups
passive guitar pick ups are limited to the six in line style using one continuous piece of copper magnet wire. ( A.W.G. # 40, 42, 43 )wound around a frame containing the pole pieces and a magnet placed under it. They provide reasonable depth of sound for even the most discriminating artist. But some have found that the six inline configuration does not allow enough room for creative uses of all the frequencies available. Individual pole pieces solved the problem. each string could be fine tuned to exact frequency and manipulated and /or matched to any root note the artist wanted.and hum is removed by the simple addition of shielding each pole.
Humbucker style pickups are tuned by placement and angle in correlation to the string.wound together on a single pole piece, so now any string can be either a single or humbucker or combination thereof. Opening an avalanche of new tone possibilities.
