Bryan Fury is a video game character from the "Tekken" fighting game series. Bryan is a cyborg (referred to as a replicant on the official "Tekken" site), though he was once a man. Dr. Abel 'created' him after he was killed, installing cybernetic enhancements to resurrect him. These enhancements resulted in extreme super strength, inhuman durability, and robotic qualities. It appears he possessed his fighting style and skills before his death, however.

His appearance seems to be based on Rutger Hauer's character looks in the movie Blade Runner, as well as his background.

History

Tekken 3

A known officer within Interpol, Bryan is shot and killed by gunmen during a shootout in Hong Kong [http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/tekken3/profile.php?id=bryan Tekken Zaibatsu's Bryan Fury Profile.] Retrieved on January 13, 2008.] . His corpse is placed in the custody of Doctor Abel for scientific research and he is revived in order for him to be Abel's agent in obtaining classified information on raising a cyborg-led army. Tekken 4

In Tekken 4, Bryan learns that his body is deteriorating and that he is close to death. Upon learning that his creator, Doctor Abel, has become head scientific advisor of the Mishima Zaibatsu, he grows to despise the Mishima Zaibatsu for taking Abel away from him, and Abel himself, for abandoning him. Bryan enters the tournament with the hope of becoming the head of the Mishima Zaibatsu, enabling him to order Doctor Abel to modify his body and prevent him from dying.

Despite not winning, Bryan eventually finds Abel, and uses his last ounce of strength to knock Abel out before losing consciousness. Later on, he wakes up in the laboratory of none other than Dr. Boskonovitch, who tells him that Yoshimitsu rescued him while robbing Heihachi Mishima's mansion, and promises to transfer Bryan's mind into a new body, although it will take a whole year. Bryan silently agrees to let Boskonovitch put him to sleep.

Tekken 5

Bryan, however, awakens a month later and is told by Boskonovitch that his body was too complicated for himself to work with, but as a last resort, He had installed a perpetual power generator in him to grant him immortality. Upon learning this, Bryan attacks Boskonovitch and the Manji clan members assigned to guard him, and leaves the laboratory.

Bryan enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 to test his performance with the generator installed, unaware that Yoshimitsu is pursuing him for revenge.

Tekken 6

Yoshimitsu's repeated meddling hinders Bryan's hopes of unlocking the generator's true powers in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5. Soon afterwards, Bryan's frustration reaches it's pinnacle, and he begins to destroy everything in sight after abandoning the tournament.

Driven by rage, he joins various battlefields over the world, indiscriminately leveling this and that to rubble. However, he soon grows tired of the same thing repeating itself countless times.

Around this time, he catches wind of The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6's announcement. Seeing another chance to test the generator's true powers, he signs up.

Game Endings

Tekken 3:Bryan is seen running from an unseen pursuer down a dark alley. As Bryan is running down the alley, he knocks over a couple of trash cans alerting the pursuer to his presence. Suddenly, a spotlight is turned on revealing that the pursuer is a squad of the Mishima Zaibatsu's "Tekken Force". They all cock their assault rifles and open fire on Bryan as he runs towards them, but he is not fazed by their gunfire. The soldiers scatter, revealing a tank, which fires at Bryan, but also can't stop him. Bryan then leaps on top of the tank and rips off its turret with his superhuman strength. He then flings it around and lets it go towards the fleeing Tekken Force soldiers, where it explodes. Bryan then laughs maniacally at his victory.

Tekken Tag Tournament:Bryan walks along the streets of Hong Kong. Then, Interpol detective Lei Wulong rushes up to him and levels his gun at him. As Bryan turns and approaches Lei, Lei opens fire on Bryan. He shrugs the onslaught of bullets off harmlessly before cracking his neck. Lei is stunned as Bryan suddenly rushes him and unleashes a vicious uppercut...

Tekken 4:After competing in the tournament Bryan confronts Dr. Abel, but he is only able to knock Abel down before he loses consciousness. Yoshimitsu saves Bryan and takes him to Doctor Boskonovitch, who reveals that the key to disabling Abel's Genocell bio-weapon is contained within Bryan's body. Doctor Boskonovitch tells Bryan that he will create a new and more powerful body for Bryan and in exchange he will keep the current body to study. Bryan nods his assent and Boskonovitch sedates him, explaining that he will wake in his new body feeling as though only a moment has passed but in reality it will have been one year.

Tekken 5 :Bryan is walking through a forest with a large gatling gun. He hears something and uses his enhanced vision to see through the trees and Yoshimitsu's cloak. Bryan opens fire and misses his target. Yoshimitsu attacks Bryan from behind and de-cloaks mid-air. He is shot in mid-air by a pistol held by Bryan. He is shot several more times before he hits the ground. Bryan stands over Yoshimitsu, smirking. He fires one last finishing shot but, unlike in Yoshimitsu's ending, Bryan's ending is left as a slightly ambiguous one since we never actually see Yoshimitsu die.

Fighting Style

Bryan Fury is a kickboxer. He shares some moves with Bruce Irvin, for example his Slash Kick, Side Step Elbow, and Bruce Special (renamed "Gatling Combination" in later games). Namco has not given confirmation about the reason for this, though it is notable that Bruce was not featured in Tekken 3, instead this game featured Bryan Fury for the first time. There is a special animation available when Bryan and Bruce are chosen as a team on Tekken Tag, but again their relationship is yet to be confirmed by Namco in either of the characters' scenes.

In step with his cyborg body and his sadistic character nature, Bryan utilizes powerful kicks, punches, and knees that bounce, stun, or knock opponents far away.
