DIA Researchgroup

The DIA Research Group is a research institute of the Deutsches Institut für Altersvorsorge. It is part of the Finance Center Münster at the Westfälische Wilhelms University of Münster and explores aspects of private and company sponsored retirement plans in the context of the behavioral finance theorie.

Research

The research focus is on the influence of psychological behaviour patterns on the retirement savings behavior of the population. Based on the results the DIA Research Group develops strategies to counter misperceptions and irrational decisions in this context.In addition, the Research Group supports the aim of the DIA, the promotion of public debate on the future development of the state pension system and the need for private retirement provision.

Events

In July 2008, the DIA Research Group for the first time hosted an international summer school on "Behavioral Economics and Retirement Savings" in Muenster. Lectures were hold by professors from renowned universities, including the universities of Harvard and Yale.
