Sam Alessi

Sam Alessi was first elected to Whittlesea Council in 1987 and again in 1997. He has served three terms as City of Whittlesea Mayor in 1997/98; 1999/2000; and 2004/05 [http://mc2.vicnet.net.au/home/nimac/SamAlessi.htm] . He is currently Deputy Chair of the Yarra Plenty Regional Library [http://www.yprl.vic.gov.au/about/board.html] and Vice President of the Municipal Association of Victoria. He was educated at Moreland High School, La Trobe and Deakin Universities and the State College of Victoria and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences; a Bachelor of Education, a Diploma of Teaching and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. As a teacher, he has taught in a number of schools, including two City of Whittlesea schools - Greenbrook and Thomastown Meadows Primary Schools and served on both school councils. Married with two daughters, he enjoys photography, gardening, going to the beach and supporting the Melbourne Football Club.
