Revolutionary Championship Wrestling is a Midwestern independent professional wrestling promotion based in Portsmouth, Ohio.

History

It was formed in early 2002 by Dirk Cunningham who had left the Superstar Wrestling Federation (SWF), after creative differences with SWF owner Andy Runyon. Soon afterwards several other wrestling stars left the SWF as well due to creative differences with the company.

In mid 2002 Cunningham acquired a ring, and a promoters license, and set forth with a booking committee featuring himself, Jerry Davis, Jason Taylor, V.L. Stricklett, Ace Gigilo, and Eric Horsley. The first show was booked for West Union, Ohio on November 29, 2002 and was titled "RCW: The Gathering" [cite web|url=http://www.twnpnews.com/messages2/7000/7983.shtml|title=RCW: The Gathering|accessdate=2008-08-29|publisher=TWNPNews.com] . Notable appearances at the show included a surprise appearance by SWF star "The King" Randy Allen, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling tag team champion, "Wildcat" Chris Harris [cite web|url=http://rcwonline.com/psdata/results/headlines/43055171.shtml|title=RCW: The Gathering Results|accessdate=2008-08-17|publisher=RCWOnline.com] .

RCW currently produces a half hour TV program called RCW: Wrestling Shadows which broadcasts on over the air TV station The Zone on channel 59 in Chillicothe, Ohio, and channel 66 in Portsmouth, Ohio.
