Admon is a Zabbix based open source computer system and network monitoring application software. It watches hosts and services that you specified, alerting you when issues occurred via E-Mail, SMS.

Admon, originally created under Zabbix v1.1.1beta, modified to run under Linux only, and will also runs well on other Unix variants. Admon is free software licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2 as published by the Free Software Foundation. Compared to Zabbix, most of the original functionalities have been shrank including supports for windows, multiple databases, SNMP and auto-discovery, and only some core functionalities reserved. Its alerting subsystem is also fully rewritten, in order to make a better user experience in large scaled networks. Admon is a smart version of Zabbix, and more reliable. It is currently maintained by [http://admon.org/ Admon.org] , the first edition will be released in September, 2008.
