Writer / Producer / Actor, Rodney Lee Conover was born on February 9th, 1969, in Aurora, Illinois and has been performing on stage, television and in film professionally as a stand-up comic and comedic actor since 1989.
Rodney Lee began his career in the improvisational troupe, "Raiders of the Last Mini-Mart," making appearances primarily in Southern California. He then went on to a successful stand-up comedy career, performing all over North America at major clubs and colleges, including "The Comedy Store" in Hollywood and Bally's Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Rodney Lee wrote and produced the #1 rated Morning Radio Show, "The Jay Thomas Show" on Power 106 in Los Angeles before moving on to television and film. He has appeared on HBO, FOX Television, Comedy Central and has written shows for CBS, Disney, Polygram, E! Entertainment Network, Sony Studios and USA Network.
After two years as Director or of Development for Tri-Crown Productions in Burbank, writing and producing such critically acclaimed TV hits as “The Robbie Knievel Death Jump Live” series for FOX, and “The Mrs. World Pageant” for PAXNET, he moved on to writing, producing and appearing in Independent Films.
In 2008, the indie romantic comedy, “BachelorMan;” loosely based on characters from Rodney Lee's stand-up act, was acquired for distribution by Mark Cuban's Magnolia Pictures and HD Net Movies.
"BachelorMan" appeared in over 30 film festivals and won 26 awards, including Best Picture at the Palm Beach Film Festival, LA's Dances with Films and Chicago's IndieFest, as well as Best Screenplay at the San Diego and Oxford International Film Festivals.
Directed by Sundance alumni, John Putch (Valerie Flake, Pursuit of Happiness), the film was co-written by Rodney Lee and the team of Jeffrey Hause and David Hines ('Once Bitten') and has shown in over 30 countries around the world, including the prestigious Melbourne, Australia and Cannes Film Festivals.
