The S2 Line of the Beijing Suburban Railway (Chinese: 北京市郊铁路S2线; Hanyu Pinyin: Běijīng shìjiāo tiělù S2 xiàn) is first line of the Beijing Suburban Railway to enter into operation. [ [http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90001/90776/6468569.html Beijing's suburban railway Line S2 opens, "People's Daily"] Aug. 7, 2008] It runs from the Beijing North Railway Station, near Xizhimen, to Badaling in Yanqing County, following the old Jingbao Railway, and provides faster, more frequent and convenient service than preexisting trains. The line is currently 82 km in length with six stations:

* Beijing North Railway Station (北京北)
* Qinghua Yuan (清华园)
* Qinghe (清河)
* Changping (昌平)
* Nankou (南口)
* Badaling (八达岭)
* Yanqing (Nancaiyue) (not the original Yanqing Railway Station)

The train reaches a maximum speed of 160 km/h. A trip from the north station to the Badaling Great Wall takes about 1 hour and 22 min. Seven other stations including Dongyuan (东园) are being renovated for this line.
