Steven Hyman

Steven Hyman

Professor Steven E. Hyman, MD, is Provost of Harvard University and professor of neuroscience at Harvard Medical School. From 1996 to 2001 he was director of the National Institute of Mental Health. His degrees are from Yale College, the University of Cambridge, and Harvard Medical School. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. As a campaigner for open access to academic work, he has been important in the creation of Harvard's open access mandate, and he sits on the board of trustees of BioMed Central.
