- Tom Fordyce
Tom Fordyce is a journalist on
BBC Sport Interactive since 2000, and spend most of his time doing text commentaries on cricket and tennis, writing features on various other sports and blogging from different events.He started his career as a features writer on Total Sport magazine and a writer on the Sported magazine both of which also closed because of low sales.
In 2007 he blogged 'my way round the rugby World Cup in a camper van' with BBC colleague
Ben Dirs . He drove 4,500 miles around France whilst producing written and video diaries of the matches and interactions they had during the 44 day tournament.In 2008 he is in Beijing covering the Olympics where he has covered a number of different sports whist also ghost writing the columns of a number of athletes.
He competes in many sports and is a talented Triathlete on a amateur scale. This is born out by him winning the Upton Classic Triathlon in July 2007. He has also done articles in Beijing where he saw how well he could run in the smog and tested the new Speedo swimsuit.
He was a nominee for the best online journalist of the year in 2002 but lost out to Dan Milmo of the the online Guardian.
He is a supporter of Sheffield Wednesday who currently reside in the second tier of the English Football League.
