Robert Earl is the founder of the Planet Hollywood chain of fast-food restaurants. Robert is a friend of Theatre producer and Owner/Chairman of Everton Football Club, Bill Kenwright CBE.
In 2006 Earl bought shares in Everton from Paul and Anita Gregg. It is unknown how much input Earl will have at Everton. Many believe that Earl is at Everton to support his friend, Kenwright's decisions. It has also been mentioned by the club that by having the owner of Planet Hollywood as a major shareholder, it may gain the club much publicity in places like the United States of America. However, Planet Hollywood now has less than 20 locations world-wide.
