Major League Baseball player. He played in parts of three seasons in the majors for three different teams.Turner was originally selected by the
New York Yankees in the 6th round of the1985 Major League Baseball Draft after playing in theCollege World Series twice for Cal State Fullerton. In by|1987, he was traded with fellow prospectKeith Hughes to thePhiladelphia Phillies for outfielderMike Easler . Turner made his major league debut the following year, going 6-for-35 in 18 games.From there, Turner played in the minors for another six seasons, getting brief trials with the
Baltimore Orioles in by|1991 and theSeattle Mariners in by|1992. The latter was his most successful big league stint, as he batted .270 in 34 games, but in by|1993 it was back to the minors for Turner.After his playing career, Turner managed in the minors in the
San Francisco Giants organization, starting in by|1997 for theBellingham Giants . Most recently, he started the by|2007 season managing theConnecticut Defenders , but he was replaced byDave Machemer in mid-season.ources
