- Laodice of Pontus
Laodice (in Greek Λαοδικη; lived in the
3rd century BC ), wife of Achaeus, she was daughter of Mithridates II king ofPontus and sister of Antiochus III's wife, also called Laodice.rf|1|poly_8.22 When Achaeus fell into the power of Antiochus (213 BC ), Laodice was left in possession of the citadel ofSardis , in which she held out for a time, but was quickly compelled by the dissensions among her own troops to surrender to Antiochus.rf|2|poly_8.23Polybius incidentally mentions that this princess was brought up before her marriage at Selge, inPisidia (today part ofTurkey ), under the care ofLogbasis , a citizen of that place.rf|3|poly_5.74References
