- JASON Project
The JASON Project is a
distance education program designed to expose middle school students to real scientific exploration in order to inspire and motivate them to learn science.The JASON Project was started in 1989 by Dr. Robert Ballard, the oceanographer who discovered the wreck of the RMS "Titanic" [cite web | title=The JASON Project - History | work=jason.org | url=http://www.jason.org/Public/AboutUS/History.aspx?pos=6 | accessmonthday=August 14 | accessyear=2008] . The JASON Foundation for Education was founded in 1990 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to administer the project. The Foundation became a subsidiary of the
