Ekeberg Line of the Oslo Tramway. Opening on 30 September 1931, it branched off at Jomfrubråten and had three stops along the convert|1.3|km|mi route—Ekebergparken, Smedstua and Simensbråten.cite book |author=Aspenberg, Nils Carl |title=Trikker og forstadsbaner i Oslo |publisher=Baneforlaget |location=Oslo |year=1994 |isbn=82-91448-03-5 |pages=15]In rush hour the owner and operator A/S Ekebergbanen provided direct services to the city center, but otherwise only provided a shuttle service to Jomfrubråten. The line was closed on 29 October 1967 when it was replaced by a
bus line that went up the other side of the hill, and that did not correspond with the Ekeberg Line. This was one of the first lines to suffer the consequences of the city councils decision to close the tramway and trolleybus with bus and rapid transit.References
