Sean Strub , an HIV-positive and openly gay businessman and activist. Before launching "POZ", Strub was involved with numerous social issues, including politics, environmentalism, civil rights, LGBT rights and HIV/AIDS."POZ" is published by Smart + Strong, which also publishes "AIDSmeds.com", a website for HIV/AIDS treatment information; "Real Health", a magazine and website for
African-American health; and "Tu Salud", a magazine and website forLatino health.In 2004, Strub sold Smart + Strong to CDM Publishing, LLC. She was part of the launch of "POZ" in 1994.
In 2006, Regan Hofmann [Miller, Lia; [http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/13/business/media/13poz.html?_r=1&scp=4&sq=poz&st=cse&oref=slogin “A Poz Columnist is Named Its Editor”] ; The New York Times; March 13, 2006] became editorial director of Smart + Strong and "POZ"’s editor-in-chief. She was the writer of the magazine’s “Anonymous” column. Previously, Hofmann was editor-in-chief of "New Jersey Life" and founded "Poets, Artists & Madmen".
