Jerome J. Hastrich

Jerome Joseph Hastrich (November 13, 1914 - May 12, 1995) was the second Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gallup, in Gallup, New Mexico. [http://www.isthmuscatholic.org/index.cfm?load=page&page=271]

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hastrich was ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood on February 9, 1941, for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee. On December 22, 1945, Hastrich was incardinated into the newly created Roman Catholic Diocese of Madison. On July 25, 1963, Pope Paul VI appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Madison Diocese, and he was consecrated a bishop on September 3, 1963. On August 25, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed Bishop Hastrich Bishop of the Gallup Diocese. Bishop Hastrich retired on March 31, 1990.
