Titanium sublimation pump
- Titanium sublimation pump
Titanium sublimation pumps may be used as a component of ultra high vacuum systems. It consists of a titanium filament through which a high current is passed. The heat causes titanium atoms to sublimate from the filament and react with gas molecules. The resulting compounds are then deposited on the walls of the ultra high vacuum chamber, or adsorbed using an ion pump.
