Asa'el Founded 2002 Council Har Hebron Region Hebron mountains Asa'el (Hebrew: עשהאל), also known as Mitzpe Asa'el (Hebrew: מצפה עשהאל, lit. Asa'el Lookout), is an Israeli settlement outpost in the West Bank. Located three kilometres south-east of Shim'a, it falls under the jurisdiction of Har Hebron Regional Council. It was established in early 2002.
In 2008 it was announced that the Yesha Council was making preparations to evacuate the outpost.[1]
The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.[2]
