John James Pulleine was an
Anglican Suffragan Bishop in the latter part of the 19th and earliest part of the 20th century. Born inSpennithorne ,Yorkshire on10 September 1841 [ [http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mila2&id=I05130 Roots web] ] into a clerical family [His father was the Reverend " Robert Pulleine", SometimeRector ofKirby Wiske "-“Who was Who”1897-1990 London,A & C Black , 1991 ISBN 071363457X ] , he was educated at Marlborough andTrinity College, Cambridge and ordained in 1868. He began his career with a curacy atSt Giles-in-the-Fields after which he was appointedRector of his father’s old parish.
