After she completes her studies in Switzerland, Jaeggy goes to live in
Rome , where she meetsIngeborg Bachmann andThomas Bernhard . In 1968 she goes toMilan to collaborate with the "Adelphi editions". Her first masterpiece is the novel "I beati anni del castigo" (1989).Times Literary Supplement accounts her novel "Proleterka" as the best book of 2003.
