USS "Navasota" (AO-106) was laid down as
Maritime Commission hull 2702 on22 February 1945 bySun Shipbuilding and Drydock Company , Chester,Pennsylvania . She was launched on30 August 1945 , and commissioned into the U.S. Navy on27 February 1946 as USS "Navasota" (AO-106).On
13 August 1975 , "Navasota" was decommissioned. She transferred to theMilitary Sealift Command , becomingUnited States Naval Ship USNS "Navasota" (T-AO-106). Under this new designation, she continued in service in support of the U.S. Navy with a civilian crew.Operational History
"Navasota" began active service with the Military Sealift Command in 1975. She was taken out of service in 1991.
Final Disposition
"Navasota" was stricken from the
Navy List on2 January 1992 . She was sold for scrapping on25 October 1995 .Notes
