Luis Otero Cifuentes

Luis Otero Cifuentes (Cali 1946- Bogotá 1985) was a politician and Colombian guerrilla.

Biography

He studied Anthropology in the National University. He became a militant of Communist Youth (in spaish Juventud Comunista Juco) and Fought in Cuba to the side of Castro in the Escambray and was one of the founders of the 19th of April Movement (M-19).

He was the one who planned to take them from the embassy of Dominican Republic. Court in verbal Advice military in a the jail the Picota, was found guilty. It left pound at the mercy of the pardon granted to the members of the M-19

In spite of being maximum head of the commando that occuped the seat of justice, this senior officer of the M-19 was commander of the operation Antonio Nariño by the Rights of the man, as he himself indicate it in a radial interview from the Palace. In any case it was the one who planning the combat operation been whatever of the success that had obtained years ago in the taking of the Embassy. He dies next to its companions during to date retakes of the Palace next to its companions but their corpse is missing.
